I am too old to start a workout program.......

….It’s never too late to be what you haven’t been. I often hear this a lot as a deterring factor for some because they feel as if the workouts will not be catered to their capabilities. Its almost like there is a lost since of hope for people over a certain age range that they can’t get help with their exercise.

I will tell you that if you are ever in need of a personal trainer and they can’t help you get the results you need just because you are over 55 years or older, they don’t need to be in this profession.

A lot of trainers want folks who are on the verge of being very fit, so they can take the credit if the six pack abs or the consistent meal implementation of turkey meat and greens. Not a ton that I have come across have the patience to work with someone who needs a ton of help.

I’ve worked with cardiac patients, stroke patients, diabetics and many more, so I know the patience it takes to get somebody from nowhere to somewhere. As a fitness professional, I have to put just as much energy in to these folks as I do my athletes to get the desired results.

There is nothing more rewarding than helping those individuals who have run out of every other option, but personal training. It seems intimating to them, overwhelming at times, and darn right tough.

But, I will say if you can approach it in a desired way that helps these folks feel comfortable, excited, and you help them celebrate the small wins they will keep coming back for more.
